iPropWiz 6 / Re: Copy/Paste/Delete issue with iPropWiz app loaded in Inventor
« Last post by KirkA01 on January 10, 2018, 10:22:54 AM »
I am now seeing this issue again when working directly inside an assembly. >:( (CTRL C, CTRL V, and Delete Key) does not work.  I can just unload the iPropWiz and-in and it works fine after that.

Any help with resolving this would be more than helpful.

Thanks.

Neil,
I also went back and removed all my loaded add-ins. The copy/paste issue did not happen until I re-loaded the IPW add-in.

Thanks,
Kirk

iPropWiz 6 / Copy/Paste/Delete issue with iPropWiz app loaded in Inventor
« Last post by KirkA01 on December 19, 2017, 09:38:57 AM »
I have something weird going on.  When I try to copy/paste or delete an iPart from the assembly environment, the Ctrl+C or Ctrl+V does not work. In order to see this issue, I have to open a sub-assembly from the context of an assembly.  I do not see it in the main assembly... only when I am inside a subassy.

I was seeing this in the main assembly when running iPropWiz 6.1.1.117.  When I updated to 6.1.1.183, the issue with the assembly went away, but it is still there when I am in a subassembly. I am using Inventor 2018.2.

If I unload the iPropWiz add-in then issue is not there, but as soon as its reloaded, I see the issue again. :(

This is a screencast showing the issue.  http://autode.sk/2BfqoS3

A few points about the video (wish we could annotate the videos):
Time 8 sec: Shows the add-in is loaded.
Time 16 sec: Try to use Ctrl+C to copy the ipart... fails.
Time 24 sec: Use Ctrl+C to copy NON ipart.  That works.
Time 44 sec: Unload IPW Add-in.
Time 50 sec: Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V now works with iPart.
Time 55 sec: DEL also works with ipart.

Thanks,
Kirk

iPropWiz 6 / The $ folder in configuration
« Last post by tahdesign on July 27, 2017, 05:53:46 AM »
I recently upgraded from 2014 to 2017 and everything seems to be working well.

However, we will start replacing all of the workstations as their leases are up.

I have a cheat sheet I go by when rebuilding or new building workstations from the software standpoint.

I have some instructions on this sheet that I wrote years ago that I do not remember why.

It says "put $ folder in iProp"

I house my iProp configuration folder within my IV Templates and Styles folder which is Vaulted (see attached).

I believe I had to make the $ folder because I could not push and pull this from the Vault but I can not remember what this was for.

Licensing / LOCKED OUT
« Last post by rprice@pointeightpower on May 18, 2017, 07:00:53 AM »
Is any one having problems getting support? Neil has not answered my email's - He might have me blocked for all I know?
I have 8 seats and 2 users are locked out because I could not get to the PC to deactivate the license.
How difficult is it to switch from fixed to floating license?

Neil thanks for the response.  That didn't work.
But what I did do was uninstall IPW completely.  Then deleted the entire folder you referenced:   C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor Addins\C-Cubed (Note we only use IPW6).

Reinstalled IPW and good to go.

Thanks!

iPropWiz 6 / Re: iPropWiz in IV2014 and IV2017 on the same machine

OK well moving forward I will just plan to make a line item in my upgrade procedure to check on this on each workstation.
I assume that once unblocked and set to auto-load that will hold for everyone that logs into that workstation (we are a CAD Lab environment).

Since it seems to work without a reinstall I think I will leave it alone and just make sure it is loading in 2017.

Inventor add-ins load via registry the .addin file that is located in the same folder as the add-in.

You could copy the file from a good machine to the problem one as a first try.

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor Addins\C-Cubed\iPropWiz 6\iPropWiz6.Inventor.addin

I will work on a solution to avoid the blocking problem. It seems hit or miss as to whether you get a dialog (Autodesk) that enables you to approve the add-in for use after installation.

If it works I would leave it as is.
